Why We Sold More Units at a Higher Price

We only changed the price. Nothing else. At 19€, we sold more than at 9€. Here's what the data actually showed us.

Why We Sold More Units at a Higher Price

We only changed the price. Nothing else.

Same product. Same listing. Same ads. Same everything.

We raised the price from 9€ to 19€ and sold more units.

This is a real case study from Larovea, a brand we co-founded with Alex Schulz in 2022. Product: clove oil.

The data.

At 9€, orders sat around 800. Conversion rate was under 1%.

At 19€, orders jumped to over 2000. Conversion rate climbed above 2%.

Double the price. Double the orders. Double the conversion.

Why does this happen?

On Amazon, price is a trust signal.

When someone is searching for clove oil to treat a toothache, they are not looking for the cheapest option. They are looking for something that will actually work. A 9€ product signals low quality. A 19€ product signals it is worth trying.

Price communicates value before the customer even reads a single word of your listing.

What this means for your pricing strategy.

Most brands default to the lowest competitive price, thinking it will drive volume. In many categories, especially health, beauty, and wellness, that logic works against you.

Your price is part of your positioning. If your product solves a real problem, price it like it does.

The question worth asking.

Are you underpricing your product and leaving both revenue and trust on the table?
